The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf to give guidance on state regulation of medical waivers and licensed practitioners
related to the use of prescription hearing aids. There is an overwhelming consensus that without clarification Americans suffering from severe hearing loss will face increased barriers to hearing aid access and care.
